Evil Eye of Orms-by-Gore

Author: slookin Categories: Card of Day

Legends uncommon. When Evil Eye of Orms-by-Gore was printed in Legends, the rules for creature types were inexact at best. Whether “Evil Eye” was a reference to the words that came after “summon” or just a shortening of the card’s name was a moot point when Evil Eye of Orms-by-Gore was the only Evil Eye in Magic. As creature types were consolidated, the Evil Eye became a Horror, and its ability was changed to look for cards with the right name rather than the right creature type. But Eyes generally come in pairs, and with the release of Time Spiral and Evil Eye of Urborg, Eye was restored to creature type status and Evil Eye of Orms-by-Gore was printed in the “timeshifted” set with updated text that would allow all of your Eyes to attack. (Of course, Time Spiral actually had a third Eye… but Mistform Ultimus and trivia are not on speaking terms.)
