Trenching Steed

Prophecy common. Trenching Steed is what you get when a farm horse, used for plowing trenches in fields, is put to work fighting the oppressor and jumping trenches of men. This week’s Card of the Day theme is “Oscar-nominated movies” and that seems perfectly fitting for Spielberg’s War Horse.

Bleak Coven Vampires

Scars of Mirrodin common. Although vampires on Mirrodin (the plane that’s now New Phyrexia) have slightly pointed teeth, the way they normally drink blood is by stabbing their victims with the elongated metallic spines on their fingers. Bleak Coven Vampires gives a great look at them.

Avacyn Restored common. The full meaning of Soulbond, according to the Avacyn Restored FAQ, is: “When this creature enters the battlefield, if you control both this creature and another creature and both are unpaired, you may pair this creature with another unpaired creature you control for as long as both remain creatures on the battlefield under your control.” In order to be paired, both creatures must start out unpaired.

Platinum Emperion

Scars of Mirrodin mythic rare. Platinum Angel first appeared in Mirrodin and it said this: “You can’t lose the game and your opponents can’t win the game.” When Magic returned to the plane in Scars of Mirrodin, a new platinum creature was called for. And Platinum Emperion fit the bill!
